However, the small runout of the tool holder measured on the machine tool must be able to show that the accuracy of the tool holder runout is good? Actually not necessarily! On the same spindle with relatively large runout, install a tool holder with good runout accuracy and a tool holder with poor runout accuracy to measure runout. The results may be exactly the opposite. Even if it is the same spindle and the same tool holder, the tool holder is rotated 180° back and forth twice and installed on the spindle to measure the runout, the results may be completely different.

After the above analysis, want to measure the runout accuracy of the tool holder on the machine tool:

1. First of all, it is necessary to ensure that the runout accuracy of the machine tool spindle is trustworthy. You can use a measuring stick to test whether the runout accuracy of the machine tool spindle is within the required range.

2. Ensure that all mating surfaces of machine tool spindles, tool holders and cutting tools are clean, and at the same time ensure that they are operated in the correct way.

However, if the tool holder fluctuates greatly when measured at the customer's site, the customer will first suspect that the tool holder is the problem. The following introduces a method that can quickly determine whether it is a problem with the tool holder or the spindle of the machine tool in this case:

First mark the position of the tool holder corresponding to the maximum value of runout, then rotate the tool holder 180 ° and install it on the spindle of the machine tool to measure the runout. Problem: If the maximum value of runout appears near the relative position of the tool holder mark, it indicates that there is a problem with the spindle.
